Outpatient Joint Experience Team Training

As part of Smith + Nephew’s new Positive Connections initiative, Outpatient Joint Team Training utilizes a Smith + Nephew sponsored Visiting Surgeon Program to train surgeons to establish a viable outpatient total joint program in the ASC setting. The Outpatient Joint Team Training program will provide a comprehensive and immersive curriculum on building a consistent, safe, and repeatable outpatient surgery experience for total joint patients.

The curriculum will feature peer-to-peer training for surgeons and anesthesiologists including:

  • Hands-on navigator training to optimize patient selection, communication, and data collection
  • Patient engagement/education and co-marketing training
  • Utilization of emerging technology and patient algorithms to increase throughput and maximize OR efficiency
  • Capturing PROMs data
